Edge technology for a secure TI connection and flexible, future-proof services
The telematics infrastructure is intended to relieve service providers in their day-to-day work. In view of the expiring connector certificates, secunet and NOVENTI have therefore jointly developed a secure and future-proof connection to the TI for on-site pharmacies. The connection to the telematics infrastructure (TI) is established via the so-called TI Service Client (TISC), based on the secunet medical connect edge gateway platform.
As part of an agreed rollout, the devices are deployed directly on site by the Samhammer service technician at the service provider's premises. Thanks to auto-provisioning, secunet medical connect can be easily integrated into the customer's infrastructure. After setup, the device automatically connects securely to the central Edge Management Suite (EMS) and downloads the required configurations and applications. It takes less than 10 minutes to switch from an on-premises TI connection to the new flexible service endpoint with a direct TI connection.
The other key benefits of an edge gateway platform become clear when, like NOVENTI, the potential of a decentralized infrastructure is recognized. secunet medical connect can be used as an edge gateway platform in addition to TI access in pharmacies to simplify and automate deployment, operation and management. It enables secure remote access to every device used by service providers. This enables NOVENTI to have complete control over monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting - all centrally controlled.
NOVENTI can install its own container-based solutions at any time in the future, independently of secunet, using the existing computing power of the edge gateway platform, without overloading or jeopardizing the existing infrastructure. The upgrade to the upcoming TIG use is easily possible via a software update.
